HarperCollins has unveiled what the new detailed illustrated slip-cased edition of the 60th Anniversary edition of The Lord of the Rings will look like.

A new 60th Anniversary Edition of J.R.R. Tolkien’s best-selling book The Lord of the Rings will be released on 16 June 2014.

Following publication of the hardback last year, a new paperback of The Hobbit, illustrated by Jemima Catlin, will be released 11 September 2014.

HarperCollins have revealed the cover art of the 2015 Tolkien Calendar. The calendar, due to be released on 28 August 2014, will include artwork by Mary Fairburn, who first sent her artwork to Tolkien 46 years ago.

On 22 May 2014 the long-awaited Beowulf: A Translation and Commentary by J.R.R. Tolkien will be published by HarperCollins and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. The book, posthumously edited by Tolkien’s son Christopher, is being published nearly 90 years after it was originally written.
