We are pleased to announce the sixteen speakers who will be presenting their papers at the The Tolkien Society Seminar 2021, which will be held online on Saturday and Sunday 3rd – 4th July. The theme is Tolkien and Diversity, and is free for anyone to attend.

The Tolkien Society and Luna Press Publishing are pleased to announce that Tolkien and the Sea, the seventh book in the Peter Roe series, is now available to preorder.

New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Animation have announced they are developing an anime feature film called The War of the Rohirrim. Directed by Kenji Kamiyama, it will be set over 250 years before the main events of The Lord of the Rings during the tumultuous reign of Helm Hammerhand, the legendary King of Rohan.

Applications for Tolkien Society Bursaries are invited from students studying for a postgraduate research degree. The Bursary can be used to support attendance at Oxonmoot 2021 to present your research, or alternatively to support presentation at other recognised academic conferences relevant to Tolkien Studies, or for costs incurred to pursue your research.

The Tolkien Society’s book Adapting Tolkien: Proceedings of The Tolkien Society Seminar 2020, edited by Will Sherwood, is published today.
