About Yulemoot

Yulemoot is a gathering of friends in Tolkien’s childhood home of Birmingham just as the festive season gets under way. We’ll be gathering at The Old Contemptibles pub to share fellowship, fun, and beer; we’ve got the room booked from 5pm until late so expect a long evening of festivities! Located in Edmund Street near Snow Hill Station (and 7 minutes’ walk from New Street Station), The Old Contemptibles boasts a classic menu of pub food and real ales sourced from breweries across Britain. There’s no need to register – just turn up! The event is free to attend and open to anyone who loves Tolkien!

The evening will be a simple gathering of friends in a semi-private area of the pub, so come as you feel comfortable, dressed casually, in your best festive party gear, or in costume! There will be a prize going to the best costume, and you will also find other Tolkien-related activities going on throughout the evening.
