Talks and Papers

Dr Dimitra Fimi presenting a paper on Constructions of Childhood in J.R.R. Tolkien Legendarium

Enyalië may be the soul of Oxonmoot, but without doubt its brain is the extensive schedule of Talks & Papers which form the main element of the daytime programme.

This programme covers a wide range of topics from the deeply scholarly to the very light hearted.
In recent years speakers have included leading Tolkien scholars such a John Garth and Dimitra Fimi, but papers are welcomed from all our delegates. A sample of past papers can be found on the Tolkien Society YouTube channel – see for example these from Oxonmoot 2016

Anyone who wishes to present a paper should respond to the Call for Papers, which is opened soon after bookings open for each Oxonmoot.
