Yulemoot is the annual seasonal gathering of The Tolkien Society, this year taking place at Gunmakers Arms in Birmingham on Saturday 1 December 2018. The event is open to anyone.

About Yulemoot

Yulemoots have been held by individual smials over the years and since 2015 the Society has hosted a central event for all-comers in Birmingham. Aside from being the city Tolkien grew up in (and thus there are various Blue Plaques on buildings for the keen to track down) members and non-members can visit the City’s large German Christmas Market, or take in the treasures of the Staffordshire Hoard, the largest hoard of Anglo-Saxon gold ever found, and the Pre-Raphaelite works in the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery (the Edwardian tea-room comes highly recommended), or the delights of the many pubs, cafes, and restaurants. Those who wish may also stay over and make a weekend of it in hotels like the Plough & Harrow where Tolkien and Edith stayed prior to his departure for France in 1916. Sarehole Mill is a short train journey away.
