The visit will take place at the Brotherton Room from 3.30 to 4.45, and Dr Alaric Hall (Lecturer in Medieval English Literature) will be available to talk about the collection.

IMC and Tolkien

The International Medieval Congress, which occurs straight after the Tolkien Society Seminar, will feature a number of Tolkien and Tolkien-related sessions which attendees of the Tolkien Society Seminar may wish to attend.

The IMC have traditionally held various events on the Sunday prior to the IMC and we eagerly await details of next year’s events which are usually free. One confirmed event for Sunday 5th July is a second-hand and antiquarian book-fair.

Dr Dimitra Fimi has written a blog post with details on the Tolkien and fantasy sessions at IMC 2015.

Great to see the Tolkien Society Seminar being held in Leeds this year; especially thinking about the Professor’s connection with the university and God’s own county, of course. Look forward to seeing you there.

  • I want to submit a paper proposal, but do not use Microsoft Outlook. Could the complete email be put up here, please?

  • Dennis Wise

Is it too late to submit a paper proposal (I assume it is, but thought I’d check). Also, I don’t see anything like a program listed yet — is that forthcoming? Cheers!

    • It may not be too late. Get in touch with our Education Secretary:

      A programme is forthcoming.

    • Cherie Blenkin

Please may I ask … what is meant by submitting a paper? Is it your study/ story..what you read to people at the seminar? or does it get chosen to be read? Thanks

  • LOTR_Nerd_3791

I wish i lived in the UK so I could go to these.

  • Andrew Higgins

I am giving a paper ‘Welsh Princesses and Cats: Lit and Lang in Tolkien’s The Tale of Tinuviel as part of Dr Dimitra Fimi’s panel on ‘Celtic Literature in Tolkien’s Medievalism’ on the first day of the IMC Conference – hope to see many Tolkien Society members there! Best, Andy

  • Irina Metzler
