Springmoot 2016 will be held at the Middletons Hotel from Friday 8th until Sunday 10th April, with the Tolkien Society AGM and Annual Dinner on the Saturday. The Guest Speaker will be Alan Lee.

About the Weekend

This year Springmoot returns to York for the first time since 1980, with the AGM and Annual Dinner being held at the Middletons Hotel in the city centre.

The weekend will begin with an innmoot at the Windmill Inn (14-16 Blossom Street, York YO24 1AJ) from 17.30 until late (feel free to drop in at anytime for as short or as long as you want) on the Friday evening. The AGM itself will start at 15.00 on Saturday afternoon, and may only be attended by members of the Tolkien Society.

The Annual Dinner will be held later that evening at 19.30, and will be preceded by a drinks reception from 18.30. This is your opportunity to meet the guest speaker, who will deliver a talk after dinner.

A trip to the National Railway Museum is planned for the Sunday. Meet at the main entrance at 10.30 where you can collect discount vouchers for the shop and 2 for 1 vouchers for the road train.

You can also pre-order Society publications to collect at the event here.

Tolkien Society Awards

The Tolkien Society Awards will be announced during the Annual Dinner.

Bookings

Bookings for the Annual Dinner are now closed.

You will need to arrange your own accommodation. If you would like to stay at the Middletons Hotel, call 01904 611570, say that you are attending the Tolkien Society event, and make sure you ask for the 15% discount.

We have not been able to reserve rooms at the Middletons Hotel, so book early. There are of course many other places to stay in York to suite most budgets, with the Queens Hotel and the Travelodges on Piccadilly and Micklegate within walking distance.
