The Call for Papers for Oxonmoot 2020 is now open. Proposals for papers must be submitted not later than Thursday 30th April, with a decision made by Thursday 21st May.
Papers should be 20 minutes maximum in length (with a further ten minutes allowed for questions): it is expected that the material is suitable for oral presentation (with the option of accompanying Powerpoint) and should not therefore be ‘read’ from a script.
Longer talks (e.g. art- or artefact- based) should be discussed by email with the Day Time Programme Co-ordinator.
Please note that papers are programmed on Friday and Saturday daytime. Please indicate if you are unavailable either day.
If the paper offered is in a cognate area of study, candidates pursuing a relevant MA, MSc, MRes, MSt, MPhil, DPhil, PhD or equivalent postgraduate degree from a recognised higher education institution will be eligible to apply for a Tolkien Society Bursary to support the cost of their attendance at Oxonmoot. In the light of the covid-19 pandemic and the resulting decision to make the seminar an on-line event, we have taken the decision to extend the application deadline for 2020 Bursaries to 30th April 2020. Decisions will be announced by 31st May 2020. Please indicate with the check-box on the form if you are going to apply for a bursary.
All presenters must be registered delegates at Oxonmoot. Click here to Book.
