A critical edition of “A Secret Vice”—Tolkien’s insightful essay on language invention—has been published by HarperCollins.

An extended edition of Tolkien’s essay “A Secret Vice” is due to be published by HarperCollins on 7 April 2016.

Stephen Oliver, Principal of Our Lady’s Abingdon in Oxfordshire, has uncovered a copy of the school’s annual journal from 1936 which contains two extremely rare poems by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Artist Alan Lee will be the guest speaker at the Tolkien Society’s Annual Dinner on Saturday 9 April 2016.

J.R.R. Tolkien’s 1937 novel The Hobbit has been translated into Romanized Yiddish.

The Haywood Society has been awarded almost £10,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund for a “J.R.R. Tolkien in Staffordshire” touring exhibition starting this March.
