Architects have drawn up plans to turn the former Shoreham Cement Works in Sussex into an environmentally-friendly holiday resort with 600 pods, in a design compared to the Shire.

The 2015 “What Kids Are Reading” report has revealed that Tolkien’s works are now less popular with UK children when compared with previous years’ studies. While last year Tolkien came joint 6th in the top-10 list of overall most popular authors, this year he doesn’t feature in the list at all.

The Province of Málaga Government has announced that it is investing €500,000 in a theme park in Rincón de la Victoria in Spain based on the works of Tolkien.

Michal Kazmierczak is well-known in the LEGO fan community for his large recreations of film sets from Indiana Jones and the planet Mustafa from Star Wars. Now he’s turned his attention to The Hobbit.

Aiden Steward, a 9-year-old student at Kermit Elementary School in Texas, was suspended from school after claiming to use Ring against a classmate to turn him invisible.

An English teacher at the University of New Mexico is offering a class to students comparing Mediaevalism and Middle-earth.
