Vue Cinemas have done a survey of cinema-goers and have discovered that The Lord of the Rings trilogy has beaten the Harry Potter series to claim the crown as best book-to-film adaptation.

16-year-old Hannah Barlow, from Logan in Ohio, has produced her own 12-minutes adaptation of “In the House of Tom Bombadil”, a chapter which is notoriously absent from The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

Stephen Colbert is a comedian well-known to American portraying a right-wing television host. But he is also a die-hard Tolkien fan, speaking of The Silmarillion on numerous occasions and even having a contest with James Franco on air.

Scott Stouffer, from Chicago, is sadly suffering from terminal cancer. His daughter, Jesse, posted a video on YouTube that her father’s last request is to see the final Hobbit film due out this December.
