Oxonmoot 2021 may be over, but the online Art Show is open to the public, and will remain open until 31st October 2021.
We are delighted to announce that Dr Dimitra Fimi, winner of the Outstanding Contribution Award in the 2021 Tolkien Society Awards, and the hosts of the Tolkien Experience Podcast, winner of the Best Online Content Award, will feature in the programme for Oxonmoot 2021.
Over the weekend of 3rd-4th July, the Society hosted its Summer Seminar on the theme of Tolkien and Diversity. Hosted online on Zoom, we welcomed 16 speakers and over 700 audience members to what was a spectacular event. The individual paper recordings are now available for free on the Tolkien Society’s YouTube channel.
With the Amazon TV series now just a year away, Oxonmoot are delighted to announce a panel to discuss all our hopes, fears and expectations for the series, seeking to answer the question “Can I get excited yet?”
We are now calling for papers for the Tolkien Society Autumn Seminar, on the theme of Translating and Illustrating Tolkien, which will be held online on Saturday 6th November 2021. The deadline is Friday 3rd September.
We are delighted to announce the speakers for the Talks and Papers programme at Oxonmoot 2021.
