As we mark 100 years since the beginning of the Battle of the Somme, Tolkien fans will be remembering the T.C.B.S. (Tea Club and Barrovian Society), the small group of friends from King Edward’s School Birmingham who were tragically caught up by war.

The stage play of J.R.R. Tolkien’s short story Leaf by Niggle is continuing its tour of Scotland following criticial acclaim.

The Bodleian Libraries is set to exhibit the map of Middle-earth annotated by Tolkien and Pauline Baynes at the same time as the Tolkien Society’s Oxonmoot in Oxford later this year.

The programme for the Tolkien Society Seminar 2016, due to be held on Sunday 3 July at the Hilton Hotel in Leeds, has been announced.

Artist John Cockshaw is hosting a Tolkien-inspired art exhibition at the Mill Bridge Gallery in Skipton.
