The Tolkien Society are delighted to announce that Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning composer Bear McCreary, the composer of the score for Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, will be joining us for Oxonmoot this year.

To mark J.R.R. Tolkien’s 131st birthday, The Tolkien Society invites fans all over the world to participate in our annual Birthday Toast.

The Tolkien Society’s Annual Dinner Guest Speaker will speaking on the evening of Saturday 13th April at our event in Cambridge.

The Centre for Fantasy and the Fantastic at the University of Glasgow is holding a special event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Sir Gawain and the Green Knight lecture. It will be held on-campus and online on Thursday 27 April 2023, 5-6:30pm BST. Attendance is free.

We are now calling for papers for the Tolkien Society 2023 seminar, on the theme The Mighty and Frail Númenor, which will be a hybrid event held online and in-person at the Hilton Hotel, Leeds on 2nd July 2023.
