The Tolkien Society’s Chair, Shaun Gunner, has today announced that the Society has more members now than at any point in the Society’s history.

This year’s Middle-earth Festival will be held this weekend – on Saturday and Sunday 3 and 4 September 2016 – at Sarehole Mill, Birmingham.

There will be an exclusive performance of Puppet State Theatre’s stage production of Leaf by Niggle during Oxonmoot, The Tolkien Society’s annual gathering in Oxford, on the evening of Saturday 10th September.

The Tolkien Society Seminar 2017 will be held on Sunday 2 July in Leeds at the Hilton Leeds City. We are now calling for papers on the theme of Poetry and Song in Tolkien’s works.

Warner Bros. has announced plans to release all six Middle-earth films directed by Peter Jackson in a single collection.

The Bodleian Libraries is set to exhibit the map of Middle-earth annotated by Tolkien and Pauline Baynes at the same time as the Tolkien Society’s Oxonmoot in Oxford later this year.
