Oxonmoot Online – bookings now open

We are delighted to announce that registration for Oxonmoot Online is now open. We are also inviting submissions for Papers, Activities and contributions for the Art Show.

Book Now

Oxonmoot Online will be held from Friday 18th September to Sunday 20th September 2020. While the event will be very different from a normal Oxonmoot, our aim remains to bring you a busy and engaging weekend of Tolkien related activities. In addition, the online nature of the event offers new opportunities for international members who are normally unable to travel to Oxford to take part.

Oxonmoot Online will include many of the events which feature in a face-to-face Oxonmoot, including:

  • A programme of Talks & Papers – some serious, others less so
  • An opening night Quiz
  • A Telerin Circle at which members can share their favourite passage from Tolkien’s works
  • A virtual Craft Room & Workshops
  • An evening of Entertainments
  • An online Art Show
  • A virtual Dealers’ Space
  • A ceremony of Remembrance, Enyalië

In addition, we will create a range of social spaces where delegates can meet to chat, play games, or just “hang out”.

For further detail of the programme and timing, visit the event website

Call for Papers

The Call for Papers is now open. Abstracts should be submitted by 08:00 on Saturday 18th July and we will let you know if your paper has been selected for presentation by Friday 31st July. People who submitted an abstract to the original call for Oxonmoot 2020 do not need to re-submit.

Activities and Social Events

To make the broad and engaging event we want, we want to run an extensive programme of activities and events – these could include group discussions, social spaces (which could be themed, or in a particular language), craft activities for people to join in, demonstrations or “master-classes”, or anything else you can imagine which might work as part of a virtual event.

Please use the button below to let us know what you could offer.
