In honour of J.R.R. Tolkien’s birthday, the price rise for registration for Tolkien 2019 will now rise on the 3rd January 2019.

Tolkien 2019 is taking place from 7th to 11th August 2019 at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham, UK. The event celebrates the Society’s 50th anniversary and guests include Dimitra Fimi, John Garth, Wayne Hammond, Alan Lee, Ted Nasmith, Christina Scull, Tom Shippey, Brian Sibley; aside from a comprehensive programme of talks and panels, it includes art and dealers, workshops, games and quizzes, and an orchestral performance, a production of Leaf by Niggle, and a ceilidh.

Price rises were originally due to take place on New Year’s Day, but in honour of Tolkien’s birthday – and to give everyone a little more time – the rise will now take place at midnight GMT, after 3rd January 2019. I.e. 00.00 UK-time, on 4th January 2019.

Prices are currently £125, discounted to £100 for Society members; prices will rise to £150, discounted to £125 for Society members. If you are a member of the Society and want to benefit from the discount, just login and visit the members’ area for your discount code.
