Winners of the Tolkien Society Awards 2016 announced

The winners of the Tolkien Society Awards 2016 were announced during the Society’s Annual Dinner in York on Saturday 9 April.

The winners were as follows:

The Art of The Lord of the Rings, ed. Wayne G. Hammond and Christina Scull

Best Website
Bradford Lee Eden, The Journal of Tolkien Research

Outstanding Contribution Award
Verlyn Flieger

The Tolkien Society Awards recognise excellence in the fields of Tolkien scholarship and fandom, highlighting our long-standing charitable objective to “seek to educate the public in, and promote research into, the life and works of Professor John Ronald Reuel Tolkien CBE“.

    I think I should point out that the illustration isn’t an accurate depiction of the Annual Dinner. None of them appears to be wearing a Little Black Dress, or a TS badge. But there was much cheering and stomping as the winners were announced.
