A plumber's son who went on to read for and obtain both Bachelor's and Masters degrees, I'm proof of the educational and social benefits of TS membership (as some of them nudged me in the direction of taking a degree). So now I have a world-wide circle of friends, a fiancee and an almost full-time spare-time job thanks to the society. Well it makes up for my current lack of paid work. Perhaps I should have followed Tolkien into English rather than luxuriate in the fleshpots of Art History. Although it didn't stop me getting a job as a book editor, it seems to get in the way with new employers.

Still I enjoyed myself hugely which is part of the point of life, and I'm having fun making jewellery and publicising us, even in this bio!
