The event at Eastercon

A number of attendees at Eastercon 2005, the British national science fiction convention, gathered in the rotunda seated around tables, and took turns to read favourite sections from Tolkien's works.

Saruman

Richard Crawshaw reads the part of Saruman

A highlight was reading the section of The Lord of the Rings at the siege of Isengard, where Saruman in his tower talks in turn to Gandalf, Theoden, and others. All the different parts were read by different people (the webmaster read the part of Gimli). Richard Crawshaw read the part of Saruman from one floor hhigher, to add verisimilitude.
