The movies is awesome as was Fellowship. Everyone seems to be hung up on the "It's not the book," syndrome.
As Peter Jackson says the book as written is unfilmable. But I believe this will be the best adaption of the book we are ever likely too see.
Congratulations to all for a magnificent and epic piece of work. Can't wait for number 3

The movie is good and interesting, but I'm asking to myself if the director's read the same book I have. Because it seems not. There are too much changes that, on my opinion, are not justified by the requirements of the movie scenes' make up. Concluding this film could be wonderful, with another title, not "The Lord of the Rings".

Saw the film yesterday - I'm still sort of awestruck. Best film I've ever seen on the visual side - it looked like a series of paintings, and I really loved the dark, Gothic feel of many of the scenes.
About the changes from the book - well, one or two scenes might be debatable, but on the whole I found it very faithful to the spirit of the book, even though not always to the written word.

Comment: Fabulous film. Not happy about Theoden being literally under Saruman's spell. Otherwise outstanding.

As a GREAT fan of the man and his works, the movie was less than I had anticipated. The movie in and of itself was very, very good. I did not like the liberty Jackson took with The Two Towers.I felt he strayed too far from the book, but overall, if you are only a casual Tokien fan, the movie, The Two Towers is awsome!

The movie is extraordinary. The characterization of Gollum is something historical for films...the first computer character that has such an important dramatical role! It is true it deviates in some issues from the book, but is perfectly comprehensible considering the format. I did to see the last one.
