To help those who both were and weren’t at Oxonmoot, we’re giving everyone a chance to get together in Oxford on the 5th November to meet friends old and new. You do not have to be a Society member, so feel free to come to any part of the day. Friends and family are more than welcome.

What’s On

  • In the morning, we shall start the day at the Ashmolean Museum on Beaumont Street to enjoy one of the country’s finest museums. We’re going to be there from 11am for those who can make it, and you can find out more about their exhibitions and collections on their website.
  • In the afternoon, we’re going to head towards the Lamb and Flag for lunch. The Lamb and Flag pub is on St Giles directly opposite the Eagle and Child, both pubs being frequented by the Inklings. We are going to head there for 2pm.
  • In the evening, we’ll be heading towards South Park for a charity-run fireworks event which starts at 6.45pm and gates open at 4.30pm. There are rides, games and food available and there is a large bonfire after the fireworks; and it’s all for a good cause! For more information – and to book tickets – visit then Oxford Fireworks website.

Getting there

For those travelling to Oxford, it is easily accessible by train from London, Southampton, Birmingham, Reading, Bournemouth, Manchester, Newcastle and Worcester; the National Rail website will help you to plan your journey. For those driving, Oxford also has an excellent park and ride service, with multiple sites around the city.

This is a great opportunity for everyone to get together for just one day so do come along to enjoy Oxford and some spectacular fireworks. Look out for the event on Facebook and share it with your friends!
