- Southfarthing Papers 2005. For the last 7 years the Southfarthing smial (otherwise known as the Southampton Tolkien Reading Group) have been keeping records of their fortnightly discussions on Tolkien, his works, and their sources. The first year's records have been compiled and edited and are now available through this link.

- The Lord of the Rings,
'Longshanks' and the Anglo - Scottish Border. - The website of Christine Ahmed, who uses LotR as a way of teaching music, also researches connections between Scottish Border history and Tolkien's works.
- Lord of the Rings Summary at eNotes - Includes notes on J.R.R. Tolkien, themes, historical context, character analysis, essays and criticism, media adaptations and more. There is a charge for the full study guide from this site.
- The Parent Centre - UK Government information and advice on a variety of children's education issues.
- Beat Bullying - This campaign goes under the slogan 'Don't Destroy the Ring: The Battle of Bullying' (the Ring in this case is a good one). It is a London-based initiative but could be used to inspire other initiatives of the same kind. Leaflets are available.

- AIGLOS - a Polish half-yearly magazine, includes lots of good English articles, fine illustrations, poetry etc.
- One Small Garden. This website promotes the making of gardens as a charity activity, taking Sam's love of gardens as its inspiration.
