Every year a group of Czech larping enthusiasts re-enact The Battle of Five Armies, the concluding set piece of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit.

Tolkien fan and news website TheOneRing.net wants to celebrate the final Hobbit film in style by holding The One Last Party in Los Angeles on Saturday 21st February, the day before the 7th Academy Awards. But, they need your help.

A local horticulturist, Chris Evans, has created a tribute to Tolkien’s Farmer Maggot near his home in Bamfurlong, Gloucestershire.

Tolkien’s drawing of the Doors of Durin in The Fellowship of the Ring, recreated in the films, is a well-known scene in The Lord of the Rings – now imagine building it in your own home.

Rolf Luchs, a Tolkien fan, has written a parody of The Lord of the Rings told from the perspective of a Rivendell housekeeper in a tale known as “The Last Homely Housekeeper“.
