| Tolkien Birthday Toast | Tolkien Reading Day | AGM | Tolkien Weekend | Seminar | Summermoot | Oxonmoot |
October 18-19th, 2003
There aren't really any firm details other than the date and the main attraction yet. However, you may wish to read about the 2001 Summermoot at Westonbirt Arboretum, or the 2000 Bristol Seminar which visited it on the Sunday.
There are a number of web sites about Westonbirt Arboretum. The following ones were collected through a Google Search. Please note that the Tolkien Society is not associated with these organisations, nor is it responsible for the content of their web sites.
The prime reason for holding an Autumnmoot at Westonbirt Arboretum, indeed the inspiration behind Autumnmoot itself, is the wonderful display of colour from the trees. Autumn is the best time for visual effects at the Arboretum, so it seemed a shame not to indulge in the possibility.
We won't be actually staying at the Arboretum itself; there are B&Bs in the nearby villages. A number of the pubs have accommodation and all the ones visited during the 2001 Summermoot served good food.
There should be further information about Autumnmoot 2003 in Amon Hen 182 in July; that information should become available on the web site during August.
