Tolkien Art Exhibition with Cor Blok, Ted Nasmith, Anke Eissmann at TROTR

The Tolkien Society is pleased to announce that the full-line of artists at The Return of the Ring’s art exhibition will include Ted Nasmith, Cor Blok, Anke Eissmann, Jay Johnstone, Jenny Dolfen, Ruth Lacon, Tor Fauskanger, Sue Wookey and Maike 'Lúthien’ Dulk alongside LEGO and a huge diorama of the Battle of Pelennor Fields. This is one of the largest Tolkien exhibitions ever to have taken place which includes many world-renowned artists over hundreds of metres of wall-space. Read full press release...

If you are still looking to stay in Loughborough, please see our page on offsit accommodation. You can also book accommodation with Loughborough University to stay at their two hotels, The Link and Burleigh Court.

Guest Announcement - Peter Gilliver

We are pleased to announce that Peter Gilliver will be coming to The Return of the Ring this August to do an exclusive talk to attendees. Peter is an Associate Editor of the Oxford English Dictionary and co-wrote the book The Ring of Words: Tolkien and the Oxford English Dictionary - he will delivering a talk titled “Making the Music: a possible source for the Ainulindalë”. We are pleased to announce that Chloë of the Midnight Storytellers will be coming to The Return of the Ring this summer to bring her unique performances to the event. The experienced storyteller will be bringing her modern twist on storytelling with live performances of such delights as ‘The Lost Legends of Britain’ and ‘J.R.R.T. Volunteering Opportunity - Sponsorship

This job has three parts – you might like to take one part, two parts, or all three. The job involves:
- researching companies that might sponsor Return of the Ring,
- identifying what is ‘sponsorable’ within Return of the Ring, and
- approaching companies and asking for sponsorship.
The first two parts can be done by someone in any part of the world: the last one needs someone able to make phone calls in UK office hours (without large international phone charges).

This is a role for someone who likes answering questions! We need someone who can answer attendees’ questions – and ask other committee members if they don’t know the answer. As well as responding individually, ‘Queries@’ will write and updated a ‘FAQs’ (Frequently Asked Questions) page for the website.
