Dealers’ Room Information
Located in the James France Lecture Block with all our other daytime activites, the combined Dealers’ Room and Art Show for 2012 will be awesome! Making use of the airy 450sq metre Exhibition Hall, it is the largest area we have ever used for this purpose, and we aim for you to relax and enjoy yourself whilst viewing the many different styles and types of artworks. There will be a full range of dealers offering books, clothing, jewellery, figurines, and even original artworks for sale. This will truly be an opportunity like no other for the collector and appreciator.
Dealers’ Registration
For dealers and their staff, each person working on at s table needs to be a named registered member of the 2012 Event and wear their badge at all times. We have two types of registration:
- If you want to run your own stand and attend or take part in any of the events, then you each need a Dealer’s Attending Registration. In recognition of your reduced opportunity to get to all the events and run your stand as well, this is at a special concession rate of £75 (one per dealer’s table only).
- If you simply want to run your own stand and not take part in any events at all, leaving at the end of each day, then you need a Dealer’s Room ONLY Registration. As you will not be attending any of the activities or events, this is set at £1 included in the table price. As an example therefore, a dealer taking two tables can take advantage of two concessionary Dealers’ Attending Registrations and as many non-attending Dealers’ Room ONLY Registrations as they need. We anticipate that artists with a large stock of paintings would find it cost effective to take a dealer’s table at a flat rate (i.e. paying no further commission on sales) bearing in mind the limited number of works that can be exhibited in the show and which are subject to 10% sales commission.
Every member of your staff must have one or other type of registration in order to get into the building. As is custom with all TS events this will be strictly enforced.
Dealers’ Tables/Space
Dealers are only offered tables/spaces for the whole event. Each table measures 6 x 2 feet and comes with some space behind. Some dealers may not want all tables and may want more space, (for artboards, clothing racks, etc.), so tables/spaces are charged at the same rate, as below:

Malcx is investigating offering art-boards, which the dealers can also hire to display art for sale. These will be 2m tall, by 1m wide and if required, a minimum 2-3 will be needed and can be placed within your table/space. Currently the University can only offer these at £25 each but we are looking into alternatives and dealers are, of course, welcome to bring their own.
The Dealers’ Room/Art Show will be open 9-5 on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the event and also on the Thursday and Monday half days. At all other times it will be locked and no access will be allowed. Thereis good onsite security whilst only the Dealers’ Room Co-ordinator will have the key.
